Anna Rodriguez Bio


Anna Rodriguez is a jazz singer in recent years has become well known in the Canary Islands music scene, and, thanks to social networks in many parts of the world.

She started singing from a very young age, first in theater and choir at school, and later was part of several groups of different styles. 

She “inherited” jazz from her mother, who introduced her to singers like Bette Midler, Peggy Lee, Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald among others.

In 1995 Anna immigrates to Israel, and that is where her career as a professional singer begins. She takes singing lessons with Edith Mesh and collaborates with several groups of salsa, including the Jerusalem Salsa and Salsa Groove Band.

She forms her own group based on Latin rhythms and pop music which performed all over Israel. 

In the year 2000 she became the lead singer of the blues and jazz "Honeydiggers" band with Arnon Palty (bass), Gil Ladin (drums), Amos Ever-Hadani (guitar) - all three music legends in Israel and teachers at Rimon School of Jazz (www.rimonschool. co.il).

In 2002, Anna returns to Tenerife, and forms her own jazz band “Anacruza”.

She participates in various concerts with these musicians, among which are Realejazz 2002 and 2004, the Santiago del Teide Jazz Festival in 2005, Sansofé Festival, "El Puerto se mueve 2006" in Puerto de la Cruz and Arona Jazz Festival 2007.

In 2007 Anna begins a new stage and begins to sing with "Three", and also forms a duet with Eliseo Lloreda (guitar). She participates with “Three” at the Puerto de la Cruz Jazz Festival 2008 and Realejosfusion 2009 among other concerts. 

Her duet with Eliseo Lloreda becomes very popular and they participate in many concerts all over the island. 

In September 2010 they record their CD “What We Are” in Multitrack Studios. 

The album was released in January 2011 and received rave reviews. 

After that time, the duet performs in several concerts in the islands and mainland Spain; highlighting their concert at the International Festival Canarias Jazz & Mas (July 2011) where Anna & Eliseo shared the stage with the headliners of that year, the legendary Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin Band; and the official presentation of their album on October 8, 2011 at the Auditorium of Tenerife. 

In December 2012 Anna & Eliseo were chosen to perform a tribute concert in honour of the ape Verdean singer Cesaria Evora in the music cycle "Cantos de Mujer”.

Anna tour in Israel 2012 : Shablul Jazz Club(Tel Aviv) with Arnon Palty on bass, Amos Ever Hadani on the guitar and Gil Ladin on drums; with Ari Erev on the piano y Tal Ronen on contrabass at Kamelia (Netanya) and duet Amos Ever Hadani (guitar) at Mitzpeh Ramon Jazz Club.

She takes part in the Los Realejos musical cycle at Casa de la Parra with Eliseo Lloreda (2014).

“No Solo Jazz” (2015) with “Three” (Eliseo Lloreda, Felu Morales, J.M. Méndez “(Churchi), was published, an album that also got excellent reviews. They perform at the Fundacion Mapfre Guanarteme musical cycle (2015).

She performs with pianist Augusto Baez in 2015 at many events, among which the Gold Medal Ceremony for Elfidio Alonso (Los Sabandeños) at the Cabildo de Tenerife, Festival Jazz Roja and Espacio Guimerá. 

She sings with FACE Quartet at Festival Jazz Roja 2015.

At the end of 2015 she forms part of IAFO Quartet (Oscar Dellacha, Ivan Bargas y Felu Morales) and with them perform as resident group at the Bahía del Duque Hotel, and various events including a concert dedicated to women in November 2016 at Casa de la Parra (Realejos).
  
In 2018 she performs at Festival Jazz Roja con su quinteto (Oscar Dellacha, Morgan Hernández, Pepucho, Felu Morales).  

At the end of 2019 Anna & Eliseo start playing as a duet again, and  record “And...We Still Are”(2021).

In 2022 Anna & Eliseo performed at Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme and also shared the stage with the headliners of the International Jazz Festival "Canarias Jazz & más" SFJAZZ Collective on the island of La Palma.
