Eliseo Lloreda Biography

 Eliseo begins his musical career at 15 years of age influenced by guitarist Carlos Santana, and soon becomes part of pop and rock groups of the islands with whom he perfects his style.

He moves to Madrid (1978) collaborating in musical projects with several artists, including the musical “El Tercer Rostro de Ivonne y Carlos” with an independent theatre company under the production of Joe Borsani, at the Martín Theatre in Madrid, and working with other important musicians At the same time in different formats.

He returns to Tenerife (1984) and begins his studies at the CEM (Center for Musical Studies) directed by the saxophonist Bebe Martín in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, discovering more sound colors and harmonic and melodic possibilities, which help him improve his knowledge and musical language.

He discovers jazz listening to saxophonist John Coltrane,  and a new world of sounds musical freedom is opened to him.

At the same time he works as a guitarist in orchestras and dance music groups at the best hotels and resorts of the islands and thus funds his studies.

In 1993, he returns to Madrid and studies at the  Musicians Workshop, where, thanks to guitarist Antonio Sáiz, he perfected his style in jazz while studying arrangements and composition. He collaborates with different formations  and forms part of the centre’s Big Band.

He returns to Tenerife (1994) and co-founds the Brazilian music group “Vía Brasil” in which he works as a guitarist and arranger for two years, performing in different clubs and pubs on the islands.

He travels to Belgium (1999) where he acts in different clubs with singer Victoria Dorta, hired by the Belgian agency Fratelis.

On his return from Europe he formed his first jazz trio and from that moment he began to work in different formations; “Entre Paréntesis”, “Round Midnight Quartet”, “Jazz Friends” (performing at the Canarias Jazz Festival & mas 2002 among others), “Soul Providers”, in addition to many other projects with which they perform at various jazz festivals in the islands .
In 2002 he recorded his first album “Eliseo Lloreda Quart"  at Manzana Studios.

In 2004 he participated in the Barcelona Jazz Festival “Más y más ” presenting the album “Eliseo Lloreda Quart” at the Jamboree Jazz Club and the Ivernacle.

Participates with Esther Ovejero Quintet at the Canarias Jazz & mas festival in 2005.

Forms part of the “The Original Big Band” directed by Jose Martin performing at the Universidad Laboral de La Laguna (2006).

Presentation of the album "Mejunje" at the FNAC in Barcelona with Atcheré Latin Jazz. 

With Juan Carlos León Group, the jazz trio "Three" performs in the concert series "Buena Música" (2007).

 “Eliseo Lloreda Blue Project” participates in the “Santa Blues Festival” sharing the stage with Buddy Guy (2007).  
 In the same year his quartet plays in La Gomera invited by the Department of Culture of the city council.

He forms part of the Fernando Barrios Quintet  participating as an opening act for Joe Zawinul at the Canarias Jazz & más Festival (2009).

Participates  with Anna Rodriguez & Three at the Puerto de la Cruz Jazz Festival (2008) and Realejosfusion (2009).

La Laguna Guitar Festival with Iván Rojas (2009). Presentation of the Dara album in: Barcelona, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and Lugo (2009).

Canarias Jazz & más Festival with “Three” (2010).

Tour in Sicily with Claudio Giambruno and Mauro Romano, performing in several jazz clubs and Etna Jazz Festival (2010).

With Anna as a duo participates among many other events at Jazz & Castañas La Victoria 2008, Realejosfusión 2011, Bogui Jazz Club, Canarias Jazz & más Festival  2011, sharing the stage with the legendary Lee Ritenour Band feat. Dave Grusin; the official presentation of “What We Are” at the Tenerife Auditorium; Insular Theater of Lanzarote (III Canarias Jazz Showroom 2011), Noche en Blanco La Laguna, Fiesta de Arte Los Realejos 2012, Casa de la Parra 2013.

He participates with Juan Carlos León Quartet group in the Music Weeks (2014) organized by the City Council of Icod de los Vinos, featuring Polo Ortí and Jorge Pardo.

He records “No Solo Jazz” with Anna Rodríguez & Three, they participate in the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation.

Jazz Roja Festival  with Anna Rodriguez and FACE Quartet (2015).

Duet with singer Noa Lur, concerts at the Teatro Real de Aranjuez and "Bogui Jazz Club" in Madrid (2015).

Duet with Noa Lur at the Teatro Leal de La Laguna, Tenerife (2016).

2017 With saxophonist Perico Sambeat, "Three", performing at the Ex Convent of Santo Domingo (La Laguna) and Club El Faro (Las Americas).

Tour in Sicily (2018) with renowned drummer Antonio Navarra, performing in several jazz clubs on the island and at the Etna Jazz Festival and Blue Brass Jazz Festival in Palermo.

He travels to Belarus (2018) with his quintet “Eliseo Lloreda Quintet” with which he performs  at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Royal Theater in Minsk.

Invited by the Ministry of Culture on the Island of Sal,  Cape Verde,  he plays with his solo project at the Morna Festival in Espargos (2019).

With the trio "A Few Colors" he travels to Miami in 2019 and they perform in "El Gato Negro" one of the most important clubs in Miami, in the "Garage Open Stage" club and participate in several television programmes in Palm Beach.

Festival of the Museum of Science and Man "Macaronesian" and in several clubs of the island of Tenerife (2019).


 “And… We Still Are”(2021)  is recorded in July 2021 with Anna Rodríguez.

In 2022 Anna & Eliseo performed at Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme and also shared the stage with the headliners of the International Jazz Festival "Canarias Jazz & más" SFJAZZ Collective on the island of La Palma.

In addition to all this, Eliseo is a composer and teacher of modern guitar at two major music schools in Tenerife, and has taught several masterclasses on a national and international level.
